Just saw your blog today for the first time, and I have to say, you write very well.

You cldnt have decribed Lagostown, Nigeria better. I was at a Modelling Event last week, and people are air-kissing themselves up and down. Nothing wrong with that, but the materialism and squalor on show in Nigeria is taking epic proportions.

And for people with low self esteem or who want to join the jet set by all means, this leads to desperation. And as I always say, desperation is an unclean force.

Cheers.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6435165117478929579.post-68965507186279202762010-01-29T06:25:31.873-08:002010-01-29T06:25:31.873-08:00I saw your note on a friends fb page and had to sa...I saw your note on a friends fb page and had to say more as I couldn't leave a comment on it.
True talk my sister, true talk! I'm grateful for my upbringing o 'cos my dad drummed Dickens into us - “a penny saved is a penny earned.” and 'Spending more than you earn is pure foolishness' and this horrible craze for credit is simply horrible. If i cannot afford something, i'm not moving near it!
This penchant for Designers, show, a life bigger than others is one of the reasons why our society treats 'seemingly richer' people better than others deemed to have little or nothing. Its why people steal to 'look good' and why civil servants own houses in Ikoyi with no other means of livelihood.
Its why people must get to the seat of power at all costs, etc, etc!
Hmmm my sister, don't be dismayed, it is common sense not to live 'big' when you have small pockets and to cut ones coat according to ones size but I don't understand why there's this horrible craze for big eyes!! (Ojukokoro!)
The wedding craze is another matter! Millions spent and afterwards, bride and groom are left hungry and without what one would consider essentials. I don talk reach o! I think you've inspired me to write a post!lamikaytyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09751692582244639132noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6435165117478929579.post-64265153897859378052010-01-20T03:36:23.714-08:002010-01-20T03:36:23.714-08:00'nuff said'nuff saidAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6435165117478929579.post-28829259796783251912010-01-20T03:22:27.240-08:002010-01-20T03:22:27.240-08:00As the saying goes..vanity upon vanity=vanity. I got away with taking taxis back home for the sake of being a teenage employee but there was certainly more respect for the intern with the BMW (thank the daddy) even though they always came late.Jen Jumahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05911167785510445457noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6435165117478929579.post-18715121965796341622010-01-19T06:12:08.005-08:002010-01-19T06:12:08.005-08:00wana i totally agree with you. i don...wana i totally agree with you. i dont see any reason i should in trying to impress some one, do so at my own deteriment. I, as an artiste, understand the need to look good am be taken seriously, but i dnt hav to kill my financial future so dat someone who doesn't hold the key to my life should be impressed. Well ironed n clean clothes, properly matched can go a long way to make u look sharp. dere r body spray dat give an all day sweet scent without u spending a show's pay. I for example hav a laptop bag dat has diffrent compartments, in one of dem i hav my show shinner, spare handkerchief n a little powder(lol). i get to d venue of my meeting b4 time n clean up in d men's room. by d time d other party arrives, i look like i came out of a 2009 camry. dats my illusion. its cheaper n works a lot of times.pitahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07665088558002639269noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6435165117478929579.post-58494447955643461322010-01-19T05:22:41.281-08:002010-01-19T05:22:41.281-08:00Nice one there,Nice one there,ufuomabubuhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09294150939890196580noreply@blogger.com
